Annascaul Walking Club outings .

WALKING SCHEDULE 2008.

21st September  11am.

Stricin (Lispole)

Sharp steep climb rewarded by breathtaking views.

Tough  3 hours.

28th September  11am.

Garfinny Bridge (Lispole / Dingle)

Easy road walk on part of the Dingle Way centred on an ancient clapper bridge at Garfinny.

Easy  3 - 4 hours.

5th October  10am

World Heart Day.

Charity walk in aid of the Irish Heart Foundation.

12th October  11am.

Camp Junction / Derrymore Strand (Camp)

Gentle walk past Killelton oratory famine village onto the beautiful shores of Tralee Bay with majestic views of the mountains and seas.

Easy  3-4 hours.

19th October  11am.

Sauce Creek Brandon Point.

Part of the Dingle Way from the foothills of Brandon at Feohanagh past the sacred beauty of Brandon Point.

Tough  5 - 6 hours.

24th October 

ANNASCAUL WALKING FESTIVAL.

2nd November 11am.

Old Kenmare Road

Walk along the old road linking Killarney to Kenmare. This roadway is part of the National Park at Muckross and passes through woodlands,  mountain slopes, rivers and lakes.

Mooderate  5 hours.

WALKING FESTIVAL  2008. 

24th October 7.30pm

Night walk of Meelin Hill.

Experience the valley and the sea in the dimness of torchlight.

Easy walk 1 hour 30 minutes.

25th October  (3 walks all levels)

A Mount Brandon 9am

The jewel in West Kerry’s crown. Aspectacular walk.

Tough  4 hours.

B  Redcliffe / Meelin 10am.

A fantastic walk with great views of the bay, the beach and the valley.

Moderate  4 hours.

   Coumdubh Roadway  11am.

Easy walk from the village to the haunting beauty of Annascaul lake, returning past Tom Crean’s grave.

Easy  2 hours.

26th October  (3 walks all levels)

 Loch a Duin 9am.

A testing yet magnificent trek beginning at Coumdubh Lake passing the waterfalls, climbing to the majestic Been Bo, following the bog road to the jaw dropping beauty of Loch a Duin, crossing the wide valley and culminating with a tough climb of Knockmulanane.

Tough  5 - 6 hours.

B   Cu Chulainn Bed  10am.

Beginning at the lake along the base of Beenoskee to the cliffs of Glentenassig stopping at Cu Chulainn’s  bed before descending to the lake.

Moderate  4 hours.

C   The Stage / Inch Road walk.  11am.

Easy road walk along the old Dingle way with great views of Inch Beach.

Easy  3 hours.

27th October.

Bulls Head  11am.

Magnificent walk to a promontary headland with an easy climb to Carrig an Phiobaire.

Easy  2 hours 30 minutes.

Annascaul Walking Club outing on 27th July 2008.  Started at Annascaul Lake. Walked path over saddle to Maghinabo and back to lake again. weather turned out clear warm and sunny.
